Once Chelsea persuaded the Dutch attacker to turn down Bayern Munich’s offer to join the Premier League, they are prepared to submit Xavi Simons’ bid to RB Leipzig.

According to reports, Chelsea and the Netherlands international have reached a personal understanding, and Chelsea will soon make a formal proposal to RB Leipzig.

By accepting Chelsea’s personal demands and turning down offers from Bayern Munich, Simons made it even more apparent that he is only interested in joining the Blues.

According to Sky, Simons has also been assured by the Club World Cup winners that Leipzig will get a formal offer for his services shortly. As of right now, though, Simons will play in Leipzig’s first Bundesliga matchup versus Bayern.

Simons has been in contact with Chelsea for a long time, and Chelsea has also been given his approval. Leipzig’s team also revealed that, under the correct circumstances, they are prepared to let go of the 22-year-old. According to reports, the Bundesliga team wants €70 million (£60 million/$82 million) for the Dutch player.

Marcel Schafer, the club’s sporting director, has stated that they will only approve a trade if it is a suitable fit. Because they must sell players to pay for the Simons deal, Chelsea is delaying the agreement. To pay for the deal, the Blues are attempting to sell Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku.

Chelsea wanted to sell Nkunku to Bayern in order to raise some money. The deal is about to fall through, though, as the Blues want to sell the former Leipzig player permanently for an estimated €40 million (£34 million/$46 million), while the German champions want to take him on loan. Chelsea has a deal with the French attacker that expires in 2029.

The London team wants to bolster their roster with Alejandro Garnacho in addition to Simons. The Argentine international is awaiting an offer and would also like to move to Stamford Bridge. According to reports, the two-time Champions League champions are prepared to spend €35 million (£30 million or $40 million) on the winger.
