The team Arne Slot saw as a Challenger!
Arne Slot believes Chelsea will fight for the Premier League title this season, after disclosing that they were his top pick last season.
The Liverpool manager will defend his title from his inaugural season on Friday night, when the Reds face Bournemouth at Anfield.

After following up their spectacular title win with a £270 million summer spending spree that includes the signing of talented Italian defender Giovanni Leoni, the Merseyside club is among many favourites to win it all again.
However, the Dutchman sees the Blues as a threat, praising their squad depth and winning mindset, having won the Conference League and Club World Cup in Enzo Maresca’s first season in charge.
‘I expected them to win last season,’ he told talkSPORT. ‘The level of quality they have, and they were there at the beginning of the season. They were in the title race after ten games. They were still present [in December].
‘They have squad depth, quality, and a very strong management, which I believe they demonstrated by winning the trophies last season.

Arne Slot POV:
‘It was fortunate for us that they, too, struggled at times last season, which is why they were unable to compete for the league title until the very end.
‘But now they’re strengthening the team again, so it’s, in my opinion, one of the ones that will compete for a league title.’
The Blues, who finished fourth in the Champions League last season, are the bookmakers’ underdogs for the biggest domestic prize.

However, with a summer spending spree rivaled only by the Reds, they are certain to improve on their points total from last season. Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap, Jorrel Hato, and Estevao have all joined Maresca’s squad, but Cole Palmer remains their mercurial talisman.
The Stamford Bridge club has also benefited from a gentle start to the season, with games against Crystal Palace, West Ham, Fulham, and Brentford before facing another of the traditional big six. The game against Manchester United at Old Trafford at the end of September, however, marks the start of a tougher run of games that will include matches against Brighton, Nottingham Forest, and Liverpool.

Marcus Rashford’s Problem at FC Barcelona!
Barcelona hopes that an 11th-hour attempt to register Marcus Rashford in time for their LaLiga opener on Saturday will be successful. However, the Blaugrana’s eligibility dispute is the latest setback in the Englishman’s transition to Catalonia.
Following speculations on Wednesday that the LaLiga champions had taken extraordinary measures to register Manchester loanee and new goalkeeper signing Joan Garcia for their season opener, Spanish source AS said on Thursday that the club had achieved some progress in their endeavor.
Captain Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s approval of a medical committee’s assessment of an injury affecting Garcia’s registration has allowed Barca to secure Garcia’s full term and approve Marcus Rashford’s case for approval, who has sacrificed 15% of his £315,000-a-week salary for the club.
Barcelona’s executives have put their personal wealth at risk as part of a €7m bank guarantee to tackle overspending in other sporting departments. The Catalans also took drastic action in December 2023 to ease salary issues. Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and defender Gerard Martin risk sitting on the sidelines until the winter transfer window opens in January.
Although there is optimism over Rashford’s situation, Szczesny and Martin are unlikely to be registered before the deadline. Rashford is keen to extend his stay beyond the end of the term and showcase his talents in a fully refurbished Camp Nou.
